LAKE POKEGAMA BOATHOUSE
ITASCA COUNTY, MINNESOTA
Situated at the edge of a lake in Northern Minnesota, this simple boathouse is composed of the elemental parts of a primitive shelter. Enclosing walls of board formed concrete hold back the earth while a simple gabled roof provides shelter from sun and rain. During the warmer months while the boats are launched, the space becomes a delightful seating area that opens up onto the beach with wonderful views of the water.

OF NOTE
- On the lake side, a large custom made overhead folding glass door allows the space to open to the lake providing uninterrupted views.
- An ipe deck serves as a landing area for the steps that lead to the shoreline, and as a platform for outdoor furniture.
- On the interior, storage cabinets in the back are held down from the sloped ceiling to provide an additional loft space, bringing light in from the north gable end window.
