DEEPHAVEN COLONIAL
DEEPHAVEN, MINNESOTA
An unintuitive entry and poorly defined living spaces were the catalysts for this remodel and addition. The home lacked a visible front door as well as a defined flow throughout the first floor. With a new two-story addition, the front entrance was repositioned to be clearly visible from the approach with an added pergola guiding visitors in. Adding a new living room and screened porch with generous double hung windows created panoramic views that immerse the occupant in the surrounding wetlands – a feature that makes this Colonial inspired home so special.

OF NOTE
- The subtle coloring of the interior allow the dramatic seasonal changes of the site to impact each room.
- Cabinet door on traditional sash ropes hides the TV when entertaining.
- To feel more connected to the site, the Living Room addition is three steps down from the existing house to follow the contour of the land.
